Seminole pitchers Nick Nolan and Damien Lovett have signed with junior college programs. Nolan will play for Hillsborough Community College while Lovett has signed with St. Petersburg College.
Nolan, a right-hander, is 5-0 with a 1.45 ERA and has emerged as Seminole's ace this season. He has 22 strikeouts and seven walks in 29 innings pitched. He also threw a no-hitter against Pinellas Park last week.
Lovett, a left-hander, has been used exclusively in relief this season. He has pitched 9.1 innings in six appearances with two saves and a 0.00 ERA.
Nolan and Lovett are the fifth and six Seminole players to earn at least partial college scholarships. Corey Baptist (Mississippi), Michael Mann (USF), Alex McGathey (North Florida) and Scott Withrow (Florida Southern) all plan on playing in college next season.
