Steinbrenner senior forward Jason Collister, recently named the state's Class 4A Player of the Year, has committed to the University of Tampa.
Warriors coach Chad Ebright said Sunday afternoon he expects Collister, a first-team pick on the Times' all-Hillsborough County squad, to sign later this week.
Collister totaled 28 goals and eight assists, leading Steinbrenner to the 4A state title match. Three of his goals came in a 3-0 region finals win against Deltona Pine Ridge. Three nights later, he scored two goals in a 4-3 state semifinal win against Ocala Forest.
Collister finished fourth in a statewide balloting of coaches and media members for the Florida Dairy Farmers' Mr. Soccer Award, which went to Tampa Prep's Shaddy Douidar.
