Wesley Chapel’s Erik Thomas, Jesuit’s Devin Harris and Boca Ciega’s Dallas Moore were all first-team selections to the Class 5A all-state teams, selected by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches and Source Hoops.

Thomas was the Times’ North Suncoast player of the year after having one of the most prolific seasons in area history. The 6-foot-5 senior forward ranked among the nation’s leaders by averaging 33 points and 16 rebounds for the district champions. He recorded double-doubles in 27 of his team’s 29 games and finished his career as one of only two 2,000-point scorers in school history.

Harris was one of the top playmakers and most versatile players during the Tigers’ run to the state title. The 6-foot-4 senior guard averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and 4.2 assists during the playoffs and made 76 percent of his free throws. He will play college ball at East Tennessee State.

Moore, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, was the Times’ Pinellas County player of the year. He led the county by averaging 27 points per game and took Boca Ciega to the playoffs before falling to eventual state champion Jesuit. The North Florida signee had one of the best games of his career – a 42-point outburst – in the Class 5A, District 12 semifinals with a trip to the postseason at stake.

Jesuit senior Travis Johnson was a third-team selection. The 6-foot-5 forward, a Cincinnati football signee, led the Tigers with 16 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
