Land O’Lakes DB Eddie Schiffer has signed to play football at Averett University, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said Wednesday in a text message.
Schiffer, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound senior, tallied 30 tackles and five pass breakups for Land O’Lakes this fall. He also snared two interceptions, returning one 50 yards for a touchdown in a 24-13 win over Wesley Chapel.
Averett University is an NCAA Division III school in Danvilla, Va. The Cougars have recruited actively in Tampa Bay and the North Suncoast – Hudson LB Steven Phillips has also signed to play there.
