Mitchell volleyball star Lyndsey Lane and standout diver Amanda Maser both signed with colleges Wednesday, athletic director Ian Mooney said in an email.
Maser is headed to Kansas after a great diving career for the Mustangs. As a senior, she was the Class 2A, Region 2 champion and finished third at state each of the last two years. She also qualified for the region meet in the 50 freestyle and helped Mitchell finish second at districts in the 200 free relay.
Maser was the Sunshine Athletic Conference’s diver of the year and a two-time all-North Suncoast selection.
The 6-foot Lane will play at Jacksonville University after an all-North Suncoast senior season.
She was one of the stars of Pasco County’s top team, recording 230 kills, 49 blocks and 22 service aces for the 18-7 Mustangs. As a junior, she had 45 aces, 45 digs and 151 kills.
