Gaither senior wrestler Daisy Santos signed her letter of intent this week to continue her wrestling career at King University in Bristol, Tenn.
"We were originally going to have a signing last week at the school but I was only allowed to invite my immediate family members," Santos said. "I wanted my team here, I couldn't have done this without them."
Santos is a two-time girls state champion wrestler and even found success wrestling against boys for Gaither's varsity team. Santos was a three-time region qualifier as a freshman, sophomore and junior. Santos also competes and trains at her father, Michael's wrestling club Evolution based out of the Northdale Recreation Center.
On Wednesday, she accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to compete for the King Lady Tornadoes. The team is already top ranked nationally and had two individual national champions in 2013.
