TAMPA — Two seniors at Cambridge Christian made their commitments official Monday when they signed with a pair of college sports programs.
Robbie Robertson signed a letter of intent to play football at Stetson University, while Brandon Park has accepted an offer to play basketball at Berry College in Georgia.
Robertson excelled all over the field for the Lancers, rushing for 876 yards, catching 51 passes for 769 yards, making 72 tackles and four interceptions on defense, averaging 37 yards per punt and scoring 18 touchdowns and six two-point conversions. He earned second-team all-Hillsborough honors as an athlete for the Times.
Stetson recently started a varsity football program and will play its inaugural season this fall.
Park averaged 7.1 points, four assists and 2.7 steals per game for Cambridge as a senior. He also was a top performer in football, rushing for 665 yards and 10 touchdowns, catching 26 passes for 389 yards and seven more scores, and making 52 tackles and two interceptions.
Lancers coach Bob Dare said Park has also expressed some interest in playing football at Berry, where the football team will start its first season this fall.
