Spring game-breakers: Springstead RB Daniel Wright followed up a breakout sophomore season with a 174-yard, two-touchdown night. He scored on a 3-yard rush late in the first quarter, had a 5-yard touchdown in the fourth and had a 39-yard TD rush called back because of penalty. Jesse Cowan blocked an extra point for Springstead and stuffed a run for no gain — while wearing a cast on his left hand. Eagles QB Tyler Mahla threw for 47 yards and had an interception on defense before leaving with a non-serious shoulder injury. Backup Joseph Jeffords threw TD passes to Kevin Bedford and a diving Latavious Hannah in relief. … Anclote’s starting quarterback and defensive back, Andrew Janus, tweaked his ankle on his second offensive series. Brandon Vinkler, who is also vying for the No. 1 job in the fall, passed for 167 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. “For a freshman, I thought he did really well,” Sharks coach Matt Wicks said. Tymere Carter scored on a 50-yard TD catch, and Jonte Scott broke a slant 72 yards for a score. Linebackers Austin Rumer (sack, two tackles for loss) and Willie Barrett (three tackles for loss) anchored Anclote’s defense.
