Lakewood has added former Buccaneer cornerback Corey Ivy to its coaching staff. Ivy played 10 seasons in the NFL, including from 2001-04 with the Bucs.
He was on Tampa Bay's team that won the 2003 Super Bowl. Ivy's last NFL season was in 2009, when he played two games with the Baltimore Ravens.
"He called me and inquired about coaching,'' head coach Cory Moore said. "We hit it off immediately and we added him to the staff. He's just another piece of the puzzle.''
Lakewood was 10-2 in 2012 and has several returning players. The Spartans did struggle in their spring game, losing 62-14 to Miami Booker T. Washington.
