Nature Coast junior Chris Lake has orally committed to play baseball at Flagler, his father, Chris, said Thursday afternoon.
Lake, a 5-foot-10 athlete, is a right-hander for the Sharks and also plays third base. He posted a 2.60 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 30 innings for NCT this spring and was 2-3 on the mound. He also batted .353 with 13 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
Lake is being recruited as a two-way player by Flagler, an NCAA Division II program in St. Augustine.
Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior seasons.
