Three area baseball players have been named underclass All-Americans by MaxPreps.
Mitchell ace Cobi Johnson earned honors as a junior. The first-team all-Suncoast selection and Florida State commit posted a 1.68 ERA with 103 strikeouts for the Class 6A region finalists. He also led the district champs with a .426 batting average.
Plant OF Kyle Tucker earned sophomore honors by MaxPreps after batting a county-best .556 with 26 RBIs and nine home runs. He has orally committed to Florida and also was also a first-team all-Suncoast performer.
Tampa Prep’s catcher Luis Medina was selected for the freshman team. He batted .461 with 23 RBIs and 11 doubles to earn second-team all-Hillsborough County honors.
