Just a few weeks ago, Lakewood offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn told anyone who asked that he was trying to wait until signing day in February to announce his college choice. But after a weekend visit to Georgia, Wynn couldn’t wait that long.
Wynn, 6-foot-2, 269 pounds, confirmed on Sunday that he has verbally committed to the University of Georgia. That ends a whirlwind spring and summer where Wynn appeared on just about every Division-I coach's radar. He received more than 30 offers, including ones from Florida, Florida State and Auburn, and is listed as the second-best offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com.
He will not be on the only Pinellas County lineman on the roster. Zach DeBell of Tarpon Springs is a sophomore offensive tackle for the Bulldogs.
