Tampa Prep pitcher and first baseman Sam Martin has orally committed to Tulane, according to the school's athletic department.
Martin, who was an honorable mention for the 2013 Tampa Bay Times' all-Hillsborough team, went 6-2 with a 2.22 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 53.2 innings in the spring. He also hit .310 with 24 RBIs and four home runs.
He plans to sign with the Green Wave in November.
Tulane, which competes in Conference USA in NCAA Division I, has two players on its roster from Florida, none from the bay area. The Green Wave went 30-28 last season.
