One of the North Suncoast’s top girls soccer programs has a new head coach.
River Ridge has hired Mark Harmon to take over the Knights, athletic director Jack Homko said Thursday in an email.
“I hope to keep it going,” Harmon said.
Harmon has coached travel soccer and won several championships in Arkansas before moving to Florida four years ago. This is his first high school head coaching job.
His oldest daughter, Bridget, is a junior on the team.
River Ridge established itself as one of Pasco County’s top programs under Skip Glover, who resigned in the offseason to spend more time with his family. The Knights won 15 games last winter, advanced to the Class 3A region final in 2012 and have five playoff victories since 2009.
