You say tomato. I say Tamayo.
(I've been waiting to use that lede for more than a year now).
Yes, River Ridge senior and young Jedi writer in training Alejandro Tamayo finally broke through this week in Pick 'Em, taking the weekly title with an impressive 18-2 record, stumbling only on the Sunlake and King losses. A strong outing for the youngster, topping six other challengers who finished at 17-3, including his mentor, Matt Baker.
Here's the list. See how you did.
As for the season standings, the race for the Grand Prize, Tamayo's victory also nudged him into first-place there, just one ahead of the Prince of Pick 'Em, Tom Ketchum.
Tamayo, at 65-15, and Ketchum (64-16), are threatening to run away with this thing, people. There's two people tied at 62-18, and then a whole gaggle -- including myself -- at 61-19. Don't let it slip away people.
Here's the season results of all 214 people that have played so far.
And lastly, here's this week's games. It's a brutally tough week, and I see some serious shifting in the standings coming.
