Carrollwood Day earned its first district championship Friday night with a 2-0 home victory over Cambridge Christian in the Class A, District 5 title game.

Cambridge (10-4-2) held the Patriots (11-3-1) scoreless in the first half before CDS pulled away. Alexis Schweitzer booted in a penalty kick for her 10th goal of the season, and Lauren Meaney added a second-half goal to preserve the win.

Stevie Schweitzer had seven saves for CDS, which notched its fourth consecutive shutout.

The Patriots will host its first playoff game ever next week against Calvary Christian.
