ST. PETERSBURG – Gibbs had three players sign letters of intent on Wednesday morning, including athlete Maurice Hall, who waited until signing day to commit to Marshall.
First-year Gibbs coach Rick Kravitz believes the Thundering Herd are getting a very good player
“He is the most explosive player I have ever coached," said Kravitz, a long-time college assistant coach. “Not the best overall player, but the most explosive. He just bursts right into the hole."
Hall had seven kick returns for touchdowns as a senior. He gained 524 yards on 72 carries and six touchdowns and added 15 catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns. On defense he had nine sacks and 86 tackles.
Teammates Jaquez President (Fairmont State) and Undrea Bullard (Akron) also signed Wednesday. President, also a track athlete, averaged 21 yards per catch in 2013. He will join AFA’s Cortavious Givens and Pinellas Park’s Antonio Harris at Fairmont State. SPC’s Chris White is also considering Fairmont.
Bullard, a defensive lineman, had nine sacks and 13 tackles for losses.
“I took a visit to Akron last month and liked it there," Bullard said. “I can’t wait to get there and get started."
