Deja Swinton, who has spent the past two seasons at Lakewood, has transferred to Boca Ciega. Lakewood coach Necole Tunsil confirmed the transfer on Wednesday morning.
“I’m fine with it,’’ Tunsil said. “I talked to her mom. I’m not going to block it or anything.’’
Swinton was a starter on last year’s Lakewood team that advanced to the state semifinals. This season, the Spartans won only seven games failed to make it out of the district tournament.
This is the fourth school for Swinton since she was in eighth grade. She started at Northside Christian, transferred to St. Petersburg for her freshman year, then Lakewood and now Boca Ciega.
