Seminole freshman pitcher Andrew Mills, who was accidentally shot in the stomach on Sunday, got an unexpected phone call Tuesday afternoon.
Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price called Mills after hearing about the incident from Seminole coach Jeff Pincus’ son, Loren.
“It really lifted his spirits," Jeff Pincus said. “That is Andrew’s favorite player. They are both left-handed pitchers. Price even told him that after he recovered they would play catch."
Mills is still at Bayfront Medical Center recovering from non-life threatening injuries to his stomach. Pincus said it may still be a week before Mills, who will miss the rest of the season, can go home.
