1. Bloomingdale (9-0): The Bulls keep finding ways to win. Tuesday, the Bulls got a dominant game from ace Lace Smith and a dazzling catch from Taylor Engman to stay perfect.
2. StrawberryCrest (8-1): In five games since a 6-3 loss to Bloomingdale, the Chargers have outscored their opponents 55-1. Cacey Simmons and Mia Fund have combined for eight of the team’s 25 steals.
3. Alonso (7-2): Jessica Warren ranks among the state leaders with six home runs for a team that lost 2-1 to Bloomingdale, its closest game of the year so far.
4. Newsome (5-2): Cassidy Davis, Rian Medley and Claire Feldman have allowed only three earned runs and struck out 47 through seven games.
5. Tampa Catholic (6-2): The Crusaders rebounded from a 3-2 loss to Academy at the Lakes with a 7-4 win over Berkeley Prep. Emily Small starred with four RBIs on a double and a home run.
6. Steinbrenner (6-1): Erica Serafini’s last three games: six RBIs, six runs scored and a .400 batting average.
7. Seffner Christian (8-1): The Crusaders are loaded with youth. Pitchers Madison Cates and Rachel Seifert and leading hitter Celia Higgins are all eighth-graders.
