Pitchers of the day
After a rocky start and a two-run, three-walk first inning, Sunlake’s David Castillo settled down and threw four scoreless innings, giving up just two hits. Castillo (4-2) gave up just one earned run, striking out four and walking six. Alex Anderson came on in relief in the sixth and set down the side. Anderson was a victim of three Seahawk fielding errors — and was the perpetrator of one in the seventh — but did not give up an earned run and struck out three. … Wesley Chapel’s Aaron Hoyte only put in one inning of work in the fifth but set the Seahawks down in order to keep the game close.
Hitters of the day
Sunlake’s Omar Cala was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Cala’s first hit found the wall in leftfield and could have been gone on a warmer day. Cala’s second hit was a walk-off RBI in the bottom of the seventh to win the game 6-5. …Corey Mumaw was 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. He was the only Wildcat to post more than one hit on the night.
Defensive gem of the day
Wildcat third baseman Michael Jones climbed the ladder to snare a high chopper in the bottom of the second and sent it to first for the put out.

Sunlake scored two runs from second base — one on a sacrifice bunt, the other on an infield single.
Dugout chatter
“We try to bunt and hit-and-run; it’s not a lot of going up there and taking strokes for us. We make it happen with base running and putting pressure on people.” — Sunlake coach Dick Rohrberg
