Tampa Bay Tech ATH Deon Cain picked up another honor Thursday.
The four-star recruit earned an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Titans coach Jayson Roberts said.
Cain is one of Tampa Bay’s top talents for the class of 2015. He was fifth in the Tampa Bay Times’ list of the top 25 recruits in his class. Rivals ranks him as the nation’s No. 14 athlete and No. 164 overall prospect; 247Sports lists him as the country’s No. 2 receiver and No. 38 overall talent.
Cain, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior, holds more than a dozen college offers from Florida State, Florida, Miami and Ohio State, among others. The dual-threat quarterback threw for 13 touchdowns and almost 2,000 yards and rushed for 731 yards and four scores last season for the 6-4 Titans.
Plant OL Jake Fruhmorgen has already committed to play in the Army bowl, while Armwood DE Byron Cowart and East Lake ATH George Campbell are scheduled to participate in the Under Armour All-America Game.
The all-star game in San Antonio, Texas has recently featured several local players, including Land O’Lakes TE Kent Taylor, Lakewood OL Isaiah Wynn, East Lake’s Artavis Scott and Mason Cole.
