Each week, our HomeTeam staffers nominate male and female Hot Shot athletes from each of the counties we cover. Then we turn the voting over to readers. These nominations span Saturday, March 15 through Friday, March 21. The winners get a T-shirt and bragging rights over every other school in the area. Read up on all of our nominees then vote until noon Monday.
Female nominees
Jennifer Kistemaker, Osceola track: The area’s top pole vaulter set meet records by clearing 11 feet, 6 inches at the USF/Steinbrenner Invitational and 11-1 at the Ed Wells/Kiwanis Invitational.
Maggie Parrish, Chamberlain track: The sophomore won the 3,200 at the USF/Steinbrenner Invitational with a time of 11:46.95, a personal record. Parrish was the only girl to finish in less than 12 minutes.

Male nominees

Ahmad Middleton, Dunedin track: Swept the 110 and 300 hurdles at the USF/Steinbrenner Invitational and Ed Wells/Kiwanis Invitational. At the USF meet, he set a record in the 300 hurdles (38.09 seconds).
David Paul, Clearwater Central Catholic baseball: The senior pitched a complete-game three-hitter in a 4-1 win over East Lake on Thursday night. He also had an RBI single that tied the score in the fourth inning.
Ryan Voyles, Bloomingdale track: The sophomore leapt a personal-best 45 feet, 8 inches to win the triple jump at the USF/Steinbrenner Invitational. The mark shattered his previous best attempt of the season and would have earned him a medal at last year’s state meet.
