St. Petersburg goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese, a sophomore, has committed to play soccer at Florida and will graduate after her junior year to join the Gators for the 2015 season.
Marckese, a two-year starter for the Green Devils, has a 4.67 GPA in St. Petersburg’s International Baccalaureate program and will have enough credits to graduate a year early.
“This is the result of years of hard work by an incredibly focused student/athlete,” Green Devils coach Rui Farias said. “Although she will be sorely missed at St. Pete High, this is an amazing opportunity for Kaylan.”
Marckese, 15, plays club soccer for Tampa Bay United Premier 97.
