Softball super 7
Records through Tuesday:
1. Bloomingdale (19-2, 9-1):
A one-run loss to district foe Alonso doesn’t keep the Bulls from ending the regular season atop the county.
2. Chamberlain (17-2, 13-1): The county’s hottest team swept its games at the Kissimmee Klassic, helping Izzy Ordorica and the Chiefs jump to No. 2 in the latest Class 6A state rankings.
3. Plant City (17-4, 9-1): Kacie Booth has batted in eight runs in the past three games — all wins, including triumphs over Durant and Strawberry Crest.
4. Alonso (17-4, 7-3): The Ravens conquered Bloomingdale last week and split their two meetings by one run each. They could meet again in next week’s Class 8A, District 7 title game.
5. Strawberry Crest (19-5, 9-1): Megan Reed’s two-homer game against Tampa Bay Tech marked her fourth contest this year with at least four RBIs.
6. Gaither (14-4, 6-2): An eight-game win streak ended with Friday’s 6-4 loss to Wiregrass Ranch in Gaither’s final district game.
7. Leto (14-4, 11-3): Adri Jones and the Falcons look like they’re headed to the playoffs for the second time in the past decade.
Also considered: Seffner Christian (13-3, 6-2), Holy Names (11-4, 5-1), Jefferson (12-6, 11-2), Durant (14-7, 6-4)
