Ten Tampa Bay football players in the class of 2015 made the cut for the latest ESPN 300.
Armwood defensive end Byron Cowart, a five-star recruit who had 13 sacks and three fumble recoveries last season, is the highest-ranked local player at No. 5. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound junior boasts a plethora of Division I offers from schools like Florida, Florida State, Miami, Auburn and Alabama. Defensive tackle Trenton Thompson of Albany, Ga., holds down ESPN's top spot.
Joining Cowart in the top 100 are East Lake athlete George Campbell (No. 11), Tampa Bay Tech athlete Deon Cain (No. 57), Plant offensive tackle and recent Clemson commit Jake Fruhmorgen (No. 83) and Nature Coast offensive tackle Christian Pellage (No. 95).
Rounding out the 300 locally: Pasco tight end and Miami commit Bowman Archibald (No. 180), Hillsborough quarterback/defensive tackle Dwayne Lawson (No. 196), former Tampa Bay Tech/current IMG offensive tackle Tyree St. Louis (No. 224), Sickles athlete Ray Ray McCloud III (No. 232) and Lakewood athlete Ryan Davis (No. 266).
