Some quick recruiting notes from Pasco:
* RB David Emmanuel recently picked up his third Division I offer, from Memphis, Emmanuel said after practice today. He also has offers from FAU and Rutgers.
Emmanuel said he’s looking to see what schools might give him early playing time. He’s planning on taking an official visit to Rutgers soon and said he would love to play in the Big Ten – Rutgers’ new conference.
“They’re doing big things right now, going to the Big Ten,” Emmanuel said.
Emmanuel, a two-star recruit (according to Rivals) has rushed for 1,147 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior. He’s averaging 10.4 yards per carry while adding 16 catches for 119 yards.
* ATH Janarion Grant also plans to visit Rutgers. He was initially planning his official visit for next week’s game against Louisville but will change it if the Pirates are still in the playoffs. He also plans to visit Texas Tech and West Virginia.
Grant, a three-star recruit with about a dozen offers, said he’s watching lots of college football to see where he might fit into certain teams.
“It’s all there, and you’re surrounded by it,” Grant said.
Grant said West Virginia, Rutgers and USF are among the school’s who are “looking pretty good,” but he’s keeping his options open.
The receiver/defensive back took an unofficial visit to USF recently, and USF receivers coach Jerome Pathon is trying to get him to make an official visit to the Bulls.
Grant has scored 16 touchdowns (and thrown for another) in his five games since returning from a hand injury. You can check out some of his highlights I had lying around my computer below.
