BRANDON — The Strawberry Crest Chargers (1-3, 1-0) got their first victory and first district win of the season as they defeated the Brandon Eagles (2-2, 0-1) on a soggy night.
Key drive: The Chargers put together a seven-play drive to begin the second half and Cameron Lehtola hit a 31-yard field goal to put them up 9-6 with eight minutes left in third quarter.
Play of the game: With three seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Chargers pressured Eagles kicker Tyler Beacom, making him miss his third field goal of the night, from 24 yards.
Stat of the game: Strawberry Crest running back Arjay Smith ran for 167 yards on 29 carries and a touchdown.
