Former Jesuit High three-sport standout George Godsey, who later became an all-ACC quarterback at Georgia Tech, headlines the Yellow Jackets' 2012 sports hall of fame class.

Godsey, among seven members of the Class of 2012 will be formally inducted Oct. 19 at the school's annual Hall of Fame induction dinner at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Godsey, now the tight ends coach for the New England Patriots, is not expected to attend, but his parents -- John and Barbara Godsey -- and two of his four siblings will be there.

Former Jackets offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen will present him, John Godsey told the Times.

A four-year letter winner, Godsey led Tech to a 17-8 record and a pair of bowl berths in two seasons as a starter. He remains the Jackets' career leader in completion percentage (63.3), and still holds single-season marks for passing yards (3,085), completions (249) and attempts (384) -- all set as a senior in 2001.

He remains fourth in Georgia Tech history in career total offensive yards (6,125).

A 1997 Jesuit graduate, Godsey earned nine total letters in football, basketball and baseball for the Tigers. In three seasons, he threw for 4,612 yards, 36 touchdowns and only 16 interceptions, helping lead Jesuit to a pair of playoff berths.
