Two Springstead girls soccer players have been suspended for six weeks after a fight in last week’s game against Lecanto, according to an incident report provided by the Florida High School Athletic Association.
The Eagles players – and one Lecanto player – were ejected from Springstead’s 4-0 win last Tuesday for “violent conduct” and punching.
According to the referees’ report, officials called a foul on Springstead player. One girl began to punch her opponent, and another player jumped into the fight and also threw at least one punch, according to the officials’ report.
Springstead began this week 6-0.
