Springstead slugger Brandon Brosher signed to play baseball at Oral Roberts last month, former Eagles coach Frank Vitale said in a text message.

Brosher has established himself as one of Hernando County’s top players. He batted .407 with 19 RBIs as a junior last season. He earned first-team all-North Suncoast honors at outfield/first base by bashing four home runs and recording a .551 on-base percentage.

The 6-foot-2 right-hander also pitched 12 innings, posting a 3.50 ERA with 22 strikeouts.

He was a second-team all-North Suncoast pick as a sophomore, thanks to eight home runs and a .356 batting average.

Oral Roberts is a Division I school in Tulsa, Okla. and a fixture of the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Eagles finished 28-21 last season.
