Boys basketball
Plant 68, Durant 44:
At Durant, the Panthers (4-3, 3-1) jumped out to a 22-2 lead and rolled from there in a Class 8A, District 7 clash. Junior forward Andrew Sanders had a double double (21 points, 15 rebounds) while senior Alex Mitura (20 points) had six 3-pointers.

Jesuit 85, Spoto 38: At Riverview, the Tigers (7-0, 4-0) got 22 points and eight rebounds from 6-foot-6 Colgate signee Jack Fleming to remain in command of the Class 5A, District 11 race. Senior Joey Galvis added 18 points.

Lennard 70, Robinson 57: At Ruskin, junior Caelen Watts had 23 points to lead the Longhorns (5-2, 3-1) in a pivotal Class 5A, District 11 matchup. Cody Brown led the Knights (4-3, 2-2).

East Bay 55, Plant City 42: At Gibonston, Anton Crutcher and Marcus Wright combined for 28 points to lead the Indians (6-1, 3-1) in a Class 7A, District 8 victory.

Girls soccer
Steinbrenner 2, Plant City 0:
At Plant City, the Warriors (6-4) got goals from sophomore Jessica Taylor and junior Dani Eule en route to their third shutout in four matches. Senior Stephanie Hirsch had three saves.

Tampa Prep 10, Tampa Catholic 2: Three Terrapins had multiple goals, led by Alonso transfer Darla Harrison’s five, in a romp of the Crusaders. Juniors Alexandra Daley and Abby Bravo had two goals each.

Wharton 5, Strawberry Crest 0: At Dover, the Wildcats peppered the Chargers with 14 shots on goal. Junior Laura Johnson had two goals for Wharton (10-1-3).

East Bay 3, Durant 1: At Durant, freshman Allie Haeck had two goals for the Indians (8-2-1, 5-0-1), who remain atop the Class 4A, District 9 standings.

Jesuit 2, Leto 1:
The Tigers (13-1-2, 5-0-1), who finished with only a 7-6 shots-on-goal advantage, got goals from senior Andrew Mason and sophomore Jacob Starnes in a pivotal Class 3A, District 9 victory.

Anton Crutcher, East Bay:
The junior forward came two rebounds shy of a double-double (16 points, eight rebounds) in the Indians’ win against Plant City.

Taylor Emery, Freedom: The sophomore guard had 29 points in only 2 ½ quarters in the Patriots girls’ rout of Wiregrass Ranch.

Darla Harrison, Tampa Prep: With former Terrapins (and current LSU) standout Colby Maffei watching, Harrison, a 5-foot sophomore midfielder, scored five goals against Tampa Catholic. Two were headers off corner kicks.

Andrew Sanders, Plant: The 6-foot-5 foward collected his fifth double double of the year (21 points, 15 rebounds) in the Panthers’ rout of Durant.

Curtis Walls, Cambridge Christian: The 6-foot-3 senior had 21 points, including three 3-pointers, in the 8-0 Lancers’ 62-32 victory against Bayshore Christian.
