Records through Wednesday

Boys
1. Boca Ciega (6-0):
The last undefeated team in the county knocked off St. Petersburg in first test of the season.

2. St. Petersburg (4-2): Bounced back from loss to the Pirates to beat Countryside this week in big district game.

3. Lakewood (7-1): It’s not pretty, but the Spartans pulled out an overtime win against Gibbs and two-point victory over Largo.

4. Seminole (5-1): The outside shooting is still there with Matt Cassity coming up big against Pinellas Park.

5. Gibbs (5-2): Young team has gone through growing pains with close losses to Lakewood and Pinellas Park.

6. Shorecrest (7-2): The Chargers are not dominant, but they are winning the games that matter in their district.

7. Countryside (5-1): Fast start came to a halt with a 16-point loss to St. Petersburg earlier this week.

Girls
1. Lakewood (11-1):
Handled a good Boca Ciega team Wednesday night. Full court press and Tianah Alvarado are too much for most teams to deal with.

2. Boca Ciega (9-3): Lost to Lakewood by 12 but did not have leader Destiny Brown, who is out two weeks with an ankle sprain.

3. St. Petersburg (9-4): Won in overtime at Clearwater on Monday. Angel Brown, Michael Everhart, Jordan Berenbaum all average in double figures.

4. Clearwater (11-1): Despite loss to Green Devils, this is a talented team, especially when Tyra Bolden, Aja Jenkins and Alex Alford get cranking.

5. Tarpon Springs (7-1): Had a 30-point win over Mitchell this week. Trio of Zoe Lekakis, Yasmine Morris, Kadejah Saunders is playing well.

6. Calvary Christian (10-1): Warriors are for real behind the play of freshman sisters Savannah and Carley Plentovich.

7. Palm Harbor University (8-3): Hurricanes have won two straight and host Sarasota Riverview Friday night.
