TAMPA — Robinson outgained Spoto 434 to 134 yards and forced two turnovers as eight players caught passes, eight players carried the ball and three players lined up at quarterback in the Knights' 47-0 victory Thursday.
A standout performance from senior running back Martin Ruiz (seven carries, 96 yards, three TDs) helped lift the Knights (7-0, 6-0). The Spartans (2-5, 2-4) got a gritty effort from senior running back Andrew Henry (118 yards, 18 carries).
Senior quarterback Zain Gilmore completed 11-of-20 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. But Robinson coach Mike DePue was not pleased by the penalties and missed tackles.
"It only takes one selfish player to screw us up," DePue said. "Sometimes we can lose focus in a game like that."
