TAMPA — Tampa Bay Tech threw the ball the best it had all season and ran it at will, too, easily knocking off Steinbrenner 42-16 Thursday to move to 3-0 in the district — all on Homecoming. Sure, the Titans (5-2) had already played six games, but with sophomore Deon Cain under center, coach Jayson Roberts wasn't going to rush it.

"We have all the confidence in him now," he said. "He has been getting better and better every game. Now we are really able to open up our playbook and get all of our great skill guys involved."

Cain threw for a season-high 211 yards with two touchdowns. The offensive line was stout as well, giving Cain the time he needed to connect on several long throws to single coverage. Running back Deon Thompson had three scores on the night and 89 yards rushing, mostly in the first three quarters.
