PALM HARBOR — Jonah Fiskaa's 17-yard third-quarter touchdown run off a muffed punt was the difference Friday as Palm Harbor University beat North Port 28-13 in a Class 8A, District 7 matchup.
Fiskaa, quarterback Tyler Kaminski and receiver Shane Dixon provided all of the Hurricanes' points. Fiskaa carried 21 times for 174 of the teams 277 rushing yards. Kaminski was 7-of-16 for 72 yards and a touchdown. Dixon chipped in three receptions for 45 yards, the biggest a 31-yard catch and run on fourth and 10 that gave the Hurricanes a one-point lead.
Defense kept the Hurricanes (6-2, 2-0) in the game.
"We didn't play completely up to our potential," PHU coach Matt LePain said. "The defense did well though, holding them (North Port) to no points off three first-half turnovers."
