Academy of the Holy Names leading scorer Ashley McWilliams will miss the remainder of the season after having knee surgery Tuesday.

McWilliams, a junior, injured the knee in a game against Strawberry Crest on Dec. 21. Doctors later determined that she tore her anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus.

"I am hoping for a fast and healthy recovery to get back to the court ASAP!" she said Tuesday night.

McWilliams will start physical therapy in the next few weeks.

She was averaging 20.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 3.6 assists for the Jaguars. Since her injury, Holy Names (11-7) has gone 3-4.
