Freedom senior Faith Woodard, a two-time selection to the Times' all-Hillsborough team, has been nominated to play in the 2013 McDonald's All-American Games.

Woodard is now one of more than 800 players in the running to make the final roster of 24 boys and 24 girls selected to play April 3 at Chicago's United Center. The final selections will be announced Feb. 14 on ESPNU.

Players are nominated by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald's All American Games Selection Committee. Woodard was the only player from the bay area to receive a nomination this year.

"Just to be nominated ... #Blessed," Woodard said via her Twitter account.

The 6-foot-2 forward starred at Riverview before transferring to Freedom for her senior season. Woodard hasn't missed a beat at her new school, averaging 21.5 points, 6.2 points, 2.1 steals and 1.2 blocks for the area's top-ranked team.

Woodard is Freedom's second player to earn a nomination to the McDonald's game, following Kaitlynn Pacholke in 2011.

She orally committed to Georgetown in October.
