Tampa Bay Christian's boys basketball team, an 86-65 winner Tuesday night against district rival Cambridge Christian, is under formal investigation by the Florida High School Athletic Association.

FHSAA spokesman Corey Sobers confirmed the investigation, providing no further details. Tampa-based attorney Peter Hobson, who represented a handful of families during the highly-publicized probe of the Armwood High football program, is representing TBC.

On Friday, Hobson told the Tampa Bay Times the FHSAA is looking into recruiting allegations against the program.

"We have done an internal investigation and we haven't found any wrongdoing on any of our parts," Hobson said.

The Rams (12-1), currently being coached by LSU and NBA alumnus Jerry "Ice" Reynolds, have at least four foreign-born players (two from Rwanda, two from the Bahamas) on their roster.

Those players are 6-foot-1, 6-6, 6-8 and 6-9. None were on the 2011-12 TBC roster provided to the MaxPreps high school sports website.

"There was absolutely no recruiting of these athletes by anyone at our school. We're assisting them with the investigation and anything we can do to facilitate this investigation, we will. We're also grateful they've allowed us to be a part of this investigation."

TBC has a long tradition of welcoming international students, who enroll with an I-20 -- or student visa -- document. Several members of the 2012 graduation class were from foreign countries.
