Seminole 44, St. Petersburg 37: By staying methodical on offense and stifling on defense, the Warhawks snapped a six-game losing streak to their Class 7A, District 10 rivals.
Better still, Seminole can wrap up the No. 1 seed in the district with a win against Countryside next week. Noah Weller came up big for the Warhawks, battling through a shoulder injury to score a team-high 18 points, including a 3-pointer in the final two minutes that gave Seminole a lead it never relinquished.
“We had to shorten the game, and our guys just hung tough the whole game,” Warhawks coach Josh Walker said. “It’s nice to get that monkey off our back with this win.”

East Lake 4, Northeast 1: The PCAC title game was delayed a day due to a scheduling conflict with the girls district tournament, but the wait was worth it for the Eagles. East Lake jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and didn’t let up. Josh Page scored two goals. Ben Stevenson and Mathias Ghiena each added a goal. Overall, East Lake had 15 shots. Jeff Richmond recorded five saves in goal for East Lake. Will Wiard had four saves for the Eagles.

Noah Weller, Seminole: The senior overcame a nagging shoulder injury to score 18 points, including seven in the fourth quarter, to lift the Warhawks to a win over rival St. Petersburg.
Meggie Dougherty-Howard, St. Petersburg Catholic: The senior scored three goals in two district games, including the winner to beat rival Clearwater Central Catholic in the Class 2A, District 9 soccer final.
Meaghan Thomas, Dixie Hollins: Granted, the Rebels lost 67-40 to Lakewood Ranch, but Thomas scored 29 of the 40 points. She hit five 3-pointers and made 11 field goals.
Josh Page, East Lake: Page helped the Eagles win the PCAC boys soccer championship over Northeast by scoring two goals.
