Hernando defensive end Robert Hill Bronson has orally committed to Tennessee Tech, his father and Leopards assistant Tom Bronson, said Friday in a text message.
Bronson was one of the North Suncoast’s top pass rushers last season. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound senior tallied 10 sacks – including 2.5 in a must-win game over Nature Coast - and 90 tackles to help the Leopards earn a 6-5 record and advance to the Class 6A playoffs.'
He also recovered three fumbles, forced four of them during an all-North Suncoast season. He blocked three punts, scoring the go-ahead touchdown on one of them in a 14-13 win over Land O’Lakes.
Bronson plans to sign with the Football Championship Subdivision program on Feb. 6. His teammate, ATH Tyrail Hawkins, plans to sign with Georgia Southern during the same ceremony.
