Justin Madison reaches millennial mark

One of the most memorable days of Justin Madison's prep sports life began with a Division I football offer and ended with a basketball milestone.

With 11 points in Tuesday night's 73-53 win at Riverview, Madison, a Robinson senior forward, reached the 1,000-point mark for his career. A 6-foot-4, 205-pound student government president who plays linebacker in the fall and the low block in the winter, Madison entered Tuesday's game averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds. Due to recruiting visits, he has played only 14 games this season.

In the wake of his breakthrough senior year (63 tackles, eight sacks), Madison has seven football scholarship offers, including one he received Tuesday morning from USF. He missed all except three football games as a junior after suffering a sprained left MCL, but averaged nearly 12 points and seven rebounds that winter.
