A couple Monday morning recruiting updates from the North Suncoast for Wednesday’s signing day:
* Pasco ATH Jajuan Henry plans to sign with Black Hills State (S.D.), Pirates coach and athletic director Tom McHugh said in a text message.
Henry, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound senior, threw for three touchdowns and rushed for five more as the Pirates’ starting quarterback early in the season. He had a breakout game (90 first-half rushing yards) against Land O’Lakes in the season opener. He also tallied five tackles and an interception at defensive back.
* Pirates softball star Jordan Lane plans to sign with the College of Central Florida, McHugh said. Lane earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior. The infielder led Pasco with a .455 average, four home runs and 26 RBIs.
* Wiregrass Ranch senior lineman Ben Botteron plans to sign with Webber International, Bulls athletic director Dave Wilson said in a text message.
The 6-foot-2, 242-pound Botteron racked up four tackles and 0.5 sacks for the Bulls this fall.
* Wiregrass tennis star Courage Okungbowa plans to announce his college destination Wednesday, too. Last spring, the two-time defending North Suncoast player of the year became the first Pasco County player since 2005 to advance to the state championship match.
