Albert Laskett, who has been at Gibbs the past two years, has transferred to Lakewood, where he attended school as a freshman. He was used last season as a running back, receiver and part-time quarterback as well as a defensive back.
“I saw him in the hallway the other day and I said, ‘Welcome back,’’’ Lakewood coach Cory Moore said Monday. “I just coach the kids who are at the school.’’
Lakewood loses its starting quarterback (Tracy Johnson), starting running back (Laterian Latimer) and top two receivers (Rodney Adams and Marquez Valdes) to graduation. Lakewood was 10-2 last season. Gibbs was 3-7.
