Pasco WR Nate Craig has picked up his first college offer – and it probably won’t be his last.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound freshman earned an offer from Texas Tech on Sunday.
“1st offer from Texas Tech University!!” Craig posted on Facebook. “Gotta keep grinding and many more will come!!! #REDRAIDERS.”
Craig will likely be one of Tampa Bay’s top prospects for the class of 2016. He’s already drawn praise from at least one national recruiting analyst because of his size, speed, leaping ability and hands.
He was a key contributor on offense and defense this fall as a freshman. Craig led the Pirates with seven touchdowns and 18 catches. He was one of the lone bright spots in Pasco’s region final loss to Robinson, catching two TDs and racking up 104 receiving yards.
In the defensive secondary, Craig had 36 tackles, a sack, four interceptions and five passes defended.
His older brother, Josh Johnson, starred as a defensive back at Pasco and Purdue and is expected to be selected in the NFL Draft later this month.
