Seminole has narrowed its list of football applicants to eight finalists who will be interviewed by a committee starting Friday, assistant principal for athletics Tom Scott said.

The committee will have a telephone conference call with former Countryside coach Bob Gobel and interviews on campus with Pinellas Park assistant Shawn Austin, Tarpon Springs assistant Mitch Disney and Orlando Edgewater assistant Bill Larkin on Friday afternoon.

On Monday, the committee will have a conference call with former Boca Ciega coach Jon Bolin and campus interviews with Hank Mallo, former Admiral Farragut coach Chris Miller and Largo defensive coordinator Jeremy Frioud.

Scott said the new coach will be announced either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning. Seminole has been looking for a coach since April 12, when Sam Roper retired after 28 seasons. The school originally had 48 applicants.
