Fivay's all-North Suncoast quarterback, Tyler Degen, will sign with Campbellsville University, his mother, Tammy, said in an email.
Degen was the North Suncoast's most prolific passer as a senior. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound athlete was sixth in all of Tampa Bay with 1,873 yards while completing 54 percent of his throws. Only five area quarterbacks had more than his 22 touchdown passes.
As a junior, he threw for 16 TDs and almost 1,400 yards to take the Falcons to the Class 5A playoffs in their first all-varsity season. Degen guided Fivay to 13 wins the last two seasons and took his team to a tiebreaker to decide a postseason berth last fall.
Degen plans to make his commitment official with a signing ceremony Friday.
Campbellsville is an NAIA program in Campbellsville, Ky. The Tigers finished 3-8 last fall.
