Pinellas Park hired former Clearwater assistant Nick Miller as its boys basketball coach Thursday.
Miller replaces Jon Cabino, who stepped down this month after four seasons.
“Nick really stood out for us,” Pinellas Park athletic director James Adams said. “He knows a lot of the about the community, he knows about AAU and summer camps. He has a lot of ties with Clearwater basketball. He was just very knowledgeable about so many things and he really blew it out of the water in the interview.”
Miller was selected over three other finalists: Berkeley Prep assistant Matt Lipinczyk, Dixie Hollins coach Tim Lopez and Palm Harbor University assistant Scott Stevens.
Adams said Miller will work as a long-term substitute while getting certified to become a full-time teacher.
