Northeast running back Keith Harrington has committed to Washington State. Harrington, who gained 681 yards rushing and 691 yards receiving as a junior, chose the Cougars over Arizona, Massachusetts, Florida International, Marshall, Ball State and Northern Illinois.
“I just got a good feeling about the coaching staff and their style of play,’’ Harrington said. “They run the same style we do here, so I’ll be able to catch the ball and run it. It’s nice to get the decision over with.’’
Harrington said he has not taken an official visit to Pullman, Wash. Second-year Washington State coach Mike Leach runs a spread offense, which is the same offense Northeast coach Mike Jalazo uses.
“Keith is one of the greatest kids you’ll ever want to meet,’’ Jalazo said. “This is really a perfect fit for him.’’
