Jefferson senior Juwuan Brown, one of the bay area’s top linebacker recruits, announced Wednesday that he has orally committed to USF.
Brown is the latest local coup for coach Willie Taggart and the Bulls, who’ve also received notable commitments from Wharton quarterback Chase Litton and Deiondre Porter, Brown’s teammate at Jefferson.
He is the 12th commitment of the Bulls’ 2014 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Brown picked the Bulls over scholarship offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota and Toledo.
Brown struggled with injuries last fall, finishing with 26 tackles and eight sacks in only six games. His recruitment picked up steam in the spring, as colleges got a glimpse of his athletic physique and tantalizing potential.
